System requirements, recommendations and other information
Operating system - Windows 2000 Workstation (SP4), Windows XP (SP2), Windows Vista (SP1) and Windows 7. The existence of one of them is the only precondition for the installation of applications - all other necessary components are located on the installation CD-ROM.
Minimum hardware requirements - 1.5 GHz processor or higher, RAM size depends on the operating system min, 512 MB RAM (memory). An empty USB slot for hardware key is required. Complete installation of TeleCAD-GIS application, including all necessary system components such as Autodesk platform and others, hard-disk space approximately 1.6 GB. TeleCAD- GIS application alone, no additional components, needs approximately 150 MB of hard disk space.
Recommended hardware - Dual core processor clocked with 2.0 GHz and faster. There is no optimal amount of RAM, but the rule is - "the more the better." Especially if you are planning to carry out computer processing of survey maps or in the design process using 24-bit topographic maps of a bigger format. Conditional optimum is 2 GB of RAM. Avoid graphics cards that are integrated on the motherboard. It is similar with the space on the hard disk. When planning the purchase of hard-disk keep in mind that a complete digital design of telecommunication network (along with surveying plans) can take 100MB of space or more. 22" TFT monitors have proven to be a good choice. It is recommended to purchase a mouse with a scroll wheel (aka Wheel mouse), because Autodesk platform with it allows more comfortable and faster work.
DWG compatibility - all of the drawings made in the software package of TeleCAD-GIS are directly compatible with AutoCAD R16 DWG format, that is, with the DWG formats used by Autodesk applications in versions 2004, 2005 and 2006. If the user does not have a program TeleCAD-GIS, but has installed some of the Autodesk products - it can be used to review or print (but not to change) prepared the technical documentation.
Version TeleCAD-GIS 2010 is compatible with AutoCAD R17 DWG format, or with the DWG format used by Autodesk applications in versions 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Format conversion - when you load a drawing, program recognizes in which version of TeleCAD-GIS applications it was made. At the same time automatic conversion of the types of structures, symbols, labels... into the current version of the application. In other words - you can use digital projects created in previous versions of program (version 2, 2005, 2005r and 2006).
.NET Managed classes - following the development of basic Autodesk platform INOVA has completed the translation of the existing code into .NET Framework environment, and development of its own upgradable Managed classes.
